Gestalt Therapy
What is Gestalt Therapy?
Gestalt refers to something made up of many parts, yet more than the sum of those parts. In Gestalt therapy, we look at the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. We explore not only your thoughts and ideas, but also your emotions and sensations to gain a deeper understanding of how you experience the world.
Focusing on the Present Moment
The essence of Gestalt therapy is focusing on the here and now. Together, we will pay attention to your current thoughts, feelings, and sensations, exploring how your past influences the way you interpret and respond to your present experiences. By understanding these connections, you gain valuable insight into your patterns of behavior and thought.

Our perception of the world is shaped by educated guesses—we make assumptions based on the sensory information we receive. Although we often feel sure that our perception is an accurate reflection of reality, it's not always the case. Our perception is influenced by our own experiences, biases, and beliefs, which can cause our view of reality to differ from others'.
The Complexity of Perception
Perception is a complex process. While it starts with basic sensory information, it’s also shaped by your past experiences, cultural influences, and beliefs. This means your perception of reality can differ significantly from someone else’s, creating unique ways of experiencing and understanding the world.
Becoming the Architect of Your Own Life
Gestalt therapy helps you take control of your own life and experience. Together, we will examine how old patterns and behaviors may be holding you back and work to develop new, healthier ways of thinking and acting. The goal is to help you build a deeper connection to yourself and live a more authentic, fulfilling life.
